Airtable Page Designer is the extension Airtable ships for printing records. You place fields on a page in a visual builder, pick a record, and print it or save it as a PDF. It suits labels, reports and catalog pages. It comes with the Airtable Team seat, from $20 a user a month billed annually. Prices on this page were checked on 20 Oct 2026.
Where Page Designer stops
Page Designer works on one record per layout. It cannot loop over linked records, so an invoice with a table of line items from a second table is out of reach. No automation can trigger it: each PDF starts with a person opening the extension and choosing a record. It is part of the Team seat, so there is no separate plan to buy.
Airtable’s other native option, Document Automator, runs inside an automation and writes Google Docs to Google Drive. Turning those into PDFs is a separate step.
The 20 tools in the list below read Airtable and write PDF. They are grouped here by what they add.
Line items
Invoices, quotes and order forms need a table that repeats for every linked record. Thirteen tools are tagged for invoices from Airtable, and the invoice generators for Airtable page lists them. Among them:
- Documint uses a visual builder and includes e-sign envelopes, from $39 a month billed annually.
- DocsAutomator fills Google Docs, Word or PDF form templates, from $19 a month billed yearly.
- CraftMyPDF uses a drag-and-drop editor, from $29 a month for 1,200 PDFs.
- miniExtensions sells its PDF generator as one of 60+ Airtable extensions, from $19 a month billed annually.
- Orshot has an Airtable invoice workflow, from $39 a month, with 100 free credits a month.
Our records do not yet confirm line-item support tool by tool. Build one real invoice with linked records during a trial before you commit.
Google Docs templates
Some teams would rather design the page in Google Docs than in a layout builder. Four tools on the list build from Google Docs templates.
- TypeFlow turns Airtable records into PDFs through Google Docs templates, from $24 a month, with 20 free test documents.
- DocsAutomator also writes the Google Doc itself, as well as the PDF.
- SourceToDocs builds from Google templates and also writes Google Slides, from $19 a month billed annually, with a free plan of 1 document a month.
- Slideform builds reports into Docs, Slides and PDF. Its pricing page did not load; a free trial is offered.
The Airtable to Google Docs page lists the five tools that write an editable Google Doc.
Automation triggers
A dedicated tool can start from an Airtable automation when a record is created or updated, or from a button field. Several also connect to Zapier, Make and n8n, which helps when the trigger lives in another app or the PDF has to go somewhere afterwards. APITemplate.io, Carbone, CraftMyPDF, DocsAutomator, PDF Generator API, SourceToDocs and Templated.io list all three. Fillout lists Zapier and Make; it is a form builder with PDF generation on every plan, including the free one, from $15 a month. Docupilot and Plumsail Documents reach Airtable only through Zapier, Make or n8n.
Developer APIs
If your own code decides when a document is made, an API tool takes the record as JSON and returns the PDF.
- Carbone fills Word templates, from EUR 26 a month billed annually (about $28), and has a free self-hosted Community edition.
- APITemplate.io offers a visual or HTML editor, from $19 a month, with 50 free PDFs a month.
- PDF Generator API has an embeddable drag-and-drop editor, from EUR 80 a year (about $7 a month).
- Bannerbear and Templated.io render images and video as well as PDFs, from $49 and $29 a month.
