1. Where is your data?

The app or format your records live in. The number is how many tools read it.

2. What do you need to produce?
2a. Output format

The file your reader gets. Pick one.

2b. Document type

What the file is for. A match adds to the score; it does not remove tools.

3. Who builds it?

The person who sets up the templates and the connection.

How the three are chosen

Only tools that read your data source and write your output are considered. Proposal and e-sign products are left out. Each remaining tool gets 3 points for the source, 3 for the output, 2 when it is built for the person who will set it up, 1 when it is built for your document type and 1 for an editor's pick.

A tool that reaches your source only through Zapier, Make or n8n loses 1 point when another tool reaches it directly. Ties are broken by a number between 0 and 1 drawn from the hour and your answers, so everyone sees the same three within the hour. The full rules are on the methodology page.
